Numerology — Two Schools, One Tool

Pythagorean and Chaldean — the two living systems of numerology. What each one calculates, what they share, and what they actually tell you.

The two schools

Pythagorean numerology (the Western standard) maps the alphabet A–Z to numbers 1–9 in straight order (A=1, B=2 … I=9, J=1, K=2 …). It is the simpler system — easier to compute, more widely used in the West.

Chaldean numerology (the older system, used in Vedic-adjacent traditions in India) assigns numbers 1–8 to letters based on their phonetic vibration rather than alphabetical order. It is considered more nuanced and is often preferred for name analysis in India.

Your three core numbers

Life Path Number — derived from your full date of birth, reduced to a single digit (or master number 11/22/33). The architecture of your life journey.

Expression Number — derived from your full name at birth. The talents and tendencies you arrived with.

Soul Urge Number — derived from the vowels of your name. What you want at depth, separate from what the world sees.

The master numbers

11, 22, and 33 are master numbers — not reduced to a single digit. They are considered heightened, intense, and demanding of the person who carries them. A Life Path 11 is "more 2" than a 2 — and harder.

How we use both

Our numerology engine computes both Pythagorean and Chaldean values for your name and shows them side by side — with the difference explained. The two often diverge, and the divergence itself is data.
